If you haven’t heard of the book Restart, by Gordon Korman, I will give you a super quick summary for it. It is a fictional story about a boy who falls of the roof of his house, (and I will not tell you why he was up there if you didn’t read it) and gets amnesia. The book talks about the new friends he makes and about him trying to figure out his old life. I 100% recommend this book.
Okay, lets get to the good stuff. The edible stuff. So, to describe what I’m making a little more, I’m making cupcakes based on three characters in this book. Brendan, who is super funny, Chase, who is the boy who falls of his roof, and, to spill the beans, was a bully in his earlier life. Also, Shoshana, who hates Chase and doesn’t give him a second chance after her brother was bullied so badly by him he had to go to a different school. (I wouldn’t really give him another chance if that happened to me also.)
Okay, let’s get started. You will need cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, and food color.
Start by making your cake according to the instructions. Spoon them into bowls and mix food color into them. For the Brendan cupcake, add all the colors in with a spoon. don’t mix them though, unless you want an ugly brown color! For the Shoshana cupcake, add blobs of purple and red. For the Chase cupcake, I added different solid colors into the pan. This didn’t work out, so you can skip the Chase cupcake. 🙂 After they were baked and cooled, I prepared the frosting. color the frosting the same way you colored the batter. To get a nice swirl, get some parchment paper and spoon the frosting so they look like stripes. Roll the parchment up and put it into a piping bag. For the Brendan cupcake, add all your colors like the batter and add purple and red to the Shoshana cupcake like the batter too.
I hope you enjoy your delicious and amazing cupcakes!
