Hey Barbie doll crafters! Today I’m going to show you some fun bedroom décor, accessories, and more for your Barbie doll!
Here is a short video with the whole bedroom!
Making beds for your Barbie is super simple! All you need to do is cut a box to the size of your bed that you want, cover it with paper or fabric, (Optional) and put blankets and pillows on it!
I wrote a blog post about a DIY Barbie bed here: DIY Barbie Bed | Partyness
I recently made a new bed with a mattress and a pink comforter. It is wider and shorter then the one in the post about making a Barbie bed.
There are many ways you can decorate or ‘paint’ walls in your Barbie house. You can paint it, but painting the plastic walls in the house can be hard. So instead of that, you can glue colored paper to the walls. I was going for a more modern farmhouse look when I painted the walls and liked the streakiness of the paint. I made the bricks by cutting up cardboard into rectangles, painting them, then gluing them onto the walls. I seriously don’t understand why I liked modern farmhouse. My style has definitely changed!
And there are more ways to decorate the walls than just painting them! You can print out pictures (VERRY small) and tape them to the walls. When I do this, I tape the back with stronger tape (When I say stronger tape I mean regular scotch tape) and cut decorative tape into thin strips and put them in the corners to look like Barbie taped the pictures up!
Another way to decorate the walls is to add floating shelves! This is WAY more simple than it seems. All you do is cut cardboard to the size you want and glue them onto the walls. You can paint the shelves or cover them with paper. And when you put your mini plants or other decorations on the shelves, they look super cute!
And, last but not least in the walls category…… WINDOWS! You might think you can’t do anything with the windows but you are wrong! You can paint the windows whatever color you want! I painted mine gold, but you can use white, black, silver, or even purple! Any color that fits your style.
Now comes the fun part! My Barbie’s work area has all of her art supplies. There are many ways you can use the desk space. You can turn the desk into a vanity, use it as an at home work area, art area, and more! Anything you can come up with.
The main part of this area is the desk. Duh! It isn’t too hard to make and you can make it however you want. You can make it by gluing legs to a small box, using popsicle sticks as the top of the desk and gluing corks to the bottom as legs, any way you want to make your Barbie’s dream desk.
For the chair, I used the chair from this Barbie playset here:
This is my favorite part! All the little details in your Barbie room will make it look so much more realistic.
I made the board by wrapping fabric around cardboard. You can use pins to pin pictures up.
I made the picture frame by cutting out adhesive paper into a frame and putting a picture from a magazine inside. The tape dispenser was made from cardboard. The link to the Barbie colored pencils blog post is here: DIY Barbie Colored Pencils! | Partyness (jefamb4.dreamhosters.com)
Right click on the image and press open in new tab. Now you can print it!
The plant is cut up and rolled paper inside a plastic thimble. The tissue box and iPad were printed.
I hope you liked all of my Barbie bedroom ideas! Have fun crafting!
